These hand forged earrings was mainly in production from late 60's and onwards. They have a hammered/forged surface which makes them shine in the light and look more "alive" than a smooth surface would.

In order to be able to date the PLUS jewelry there is an easy rule to follow; all jewelry has an H-number and the lower the number, the earlier the jewelry was produced.

These AGE earrings has the number H93 and they are featured in a advertising brochure from 1968 with several other jewelry; se second last photo.

Anna Greta Eker is one of the most popular modernists of the 20th century, Anna's pieces are known for their clean lines and innovative design. This "crown" design has become one of her most widely recognized. Here ia a wonderful large pair of convex earrings by Anna Greta Eker. Together with Tone Vigeland, she defined the new wave of jewelry design in Norway in the 1960's and their work was widely exported.

About the designer/maker:
Anna Greta Eker (1928 - 1996), was originally from Finland. She settled in Norway after she married Erling Christoffersen, founder of the Norway PLUS applied arts centre in Fredrikstad, Norway.
Her work in the early 1960's was in a distinct Nordic expression. Her jewelry was simple, but with great decorative effect.
Towards the end of the decade her jewelry became highly dimensional with a sculptural character. They were strictly composed, and at times they had folk art prints, especially for a group of jewelry where African and Oriental jewelry had been an important source of inspiration. In the 1970's the jewelry designs softens and is characterized by simple, soft curves.

About "PLUS":
The "PLUS" organization had it's prime time as an art and design institution from 1958 - 1970s.
Despite the fact that PLUS's "silver room/workshop" was small, the production was quite big. The selection was plentiful; probably more than 400 different series-produced models. In addition there where many smaller series of jewelry. - On November the 15th 1958 PLUS was officially opened in the Old Town of Fredrikstad. It only took a few months to start up many different workshops as; ceramics, silver jewelry, glassblower, cabinetmaker, textile printing, and more. To add the organization money, they introduced a labeling system: The PLUS hallmark. It was a quality stamp/Logo for the products made within the organization.

In 1975, a larger conflict occurred at PLUS, and members signed out of the organization, which was gradually weakened. The official closure of PLUS is expected to be 1978, but it continued until 1985 when the organization's statutes were changed and the renown "PLUS School" was established.
It is still around today; educating new goldsmiths (and this is where I got my very own education and Journeyman Certificate).

I do my very best to describe the jewelry as it is and I strive to show the products as true to the real product in all the photos. Please note that there could be a slight color deviation, as I have no control over the color caliberahion on your monitor.

* Please note that almost all of the jewelry are previously worn, and as silver scratches very easily, there will be some signs of wear.

Most items are rinsed in an ultra sound machine and then polished in a polishing drum; they will have a more shiny look than others.
When I felt it enhanced the all over look of the jewelry; I have chosen to keep the patina and oxidation of time. An other exception are enameled jewelry and jewelry that are not ment for strong chemicals and treatments.

For any questions regarding this item please do not hesitate to ask.

My goal is that you are 100% happy with your purchase.
I hope that you will find the jewelry even more beautiful in real life than in the photos.
If for some reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please let me know and we will work it out.
